Genesis starts at 26 bits. Each epoch halves the structural target until its bound: later epochs require more work. Price is separate: explicit prices for epochs 0–6, then 1.4× per epoch up to its cap. Entry stays constant within an epoch.

A 32-discovery window targets 32 blocks per discovery. A faster run can harden the effective target without changing entry price. Your proof must meet that live target.
BURST
Busy waters
Fast discoveries step up a pressure table to about 2.14×. A streak increases work, subject to target bounds. It neither advances the epoch by itself nor reserves the next mint.
DROUGHT
Quiet waters
After more than 15 minutes without a discovery, relief begins and steps every 15 minutes. Waiting can ease the target within its bounds; it does not reprice entry or move regeneration.
Start opens a wallet confirmation when a valid proof is found. Continuous resumes after each successful mint, using the next challenge price. Every mint requires wallet confirmation.

Supply epochs set structural work and settlement. Adaptive pace, burst pressure, and drought relief adjust the live target within protocol bounds; these temporary effects do not advance the epoch or change settlement.
Burst pressure and drought relief can apply together. Waiting does not guarantee a discovery. Each attempt is independent; a near miss gives the next attempt no advantage.
A competing PoW mint changes the round, and anchor rotation invalidates the old job. A found proof is a candidate, never a reservation. An easier target alone does not invalidate work in the same job.

What is ArcLotls?
ArcLotls is an on-chain pixel axolotl collection with proof-of-work discovery, lifecycle evolution, eligible rent, and LOTL regeneration.
Discovery
Can I just buy one?
Not ready-made. The collection has no sale function: an ArcLotl comes into existence only as a hash at or below the live target, paid at the current epoch settlement. Once ArcLotls exist, owners can transfer them like any other NFT. Discovery
Can someone steal my solution?
No. The solver is bound in the work domain, so the same nonce computes to a different hash for another address. Discovery
Is a found hash reserved for me?
No. A valid proof is a candidate. A competing mint, a new round, or a rotated anchor can invalidate it before inclusion. Discovery
Settlement
What am I paying for, then?
The epoch settlement in USDC. Eligible rent, treasury, and buyback receive their configured integers in the same transaction. The operator does not take a separate mint checkout. Settlement
Lifecycle
When can an ArcLotl regenerate?
Both a later proof-of-work discovery and 10 minutes from birth are required. Regeneration burns the ArcLotl and issues its current sliding LOTL quote. Regeneration
Does rarity increase rent?
No. Economic weight depends on stage, not rarity, palette, mutation, proof quality, or other visual traits. New rent eligibility begins after the birth epoch. Rent
Does fusion count as a discovery?
No. Fusion issues a new token ID and a new Hatchling with new maturity gates. It does not advance the proof-of-work discovery count. Lifecycle

When does LOTL trading open?
Ordinary LOTL trading opens at discovery 1,016. The global trade tax falls from 50% to 5% over the next 10 minutes. Available swaps also require verified pool liquidity. LOTL

Can the artwork disappear?
The sprites, palette, and renderer live in contract storage. The picture is assembled on request. There is no metadata server to renew. Artwork
